April 25, 2025 — BMW Motorrad reveals teaser for R 1300 RT luxury tourer, unveiling set for April 29

BMW Motorrad has officially teased its next-generation luxury touring motorcycle, the BMW R 1300 RT, ahead of its global debut scheduled for April 29, 2025, at 5 PM CEST. The new model is expected to bring a bold evolution in design, powertrain, and features, marking a significant leap from its predecessor, the R 1250 RT.

Powering the Future of Touring: The 1,300cc Boxer Engine

At the heart of the upcoming R 1300 RT lies the same 1,300cc boxer twin-cylinder engine that powers the BMW R 1300 GS. This new-generation powertrain offers enhanced performance, smoother ride quality, and improved efficiency—elements that define BMW’s commitment to premium touring performance. Expect increased torque and horsepower, along with refined emissions standards compliance.

All-New Design and Aerodynamics

According to the teaser and previous spy shots, the R 1300 RT will feature a completely redesigned bodywork, distinguishing itself from the R 1250 RT in both aesthetics and functionality. The revamped design is expected to include enhanced aerodynamics, sleeker LED lighting, and a more aggressive front fascia. A redesigned fairing and integrated panniers are also likely, aligning with the bike’s long-distance touring focus.

BMW is also anticipated to offer upgraded ergonomics, rider comfort features, and the latest BMW Motorrad connectivity suite, possibly featuring a larger TFT screen and radar-assisted rider aids like adaptive cruise control.

India Launch and Expected Pricing

The BMW R 1250 RT currently retails in India at ₹24.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the performance and tech upgrades, the R 1300 RT is expected to command a higher price tag when it arrives on Indian shores, likely surpassing ₹26 lakh. BMW Motorrad India has not yet announced a local launch date, but it may follow shortly after the global reveal.

The April 29 unveil promises to reveal full technical specifications, feature sets, and a closer look at the much-anticipated design changes. Touring enthusiasts can expect a blend of sportiness, luxury, and long-distance prowess that BMW’s RT lineup has long been known for.
