US president Donald Trump on Tuesday, again rejected claims linking him to a letter found in Jeffrey Epstein ’s private records.
Speaking to reporters in Washington, DC, Trump said, “It’s not my signature and it’s not the way I speak, and anybody that’s covered me for a long time knows that’s not my language. It’s nonsense and, frankly, you’re wasting your time.”
The house oversight committee recently released documents from Epstein’s estate, including a 2003 birthday album titled The First Fifty Years, prepared by Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s 50th birthday.
The album contained a nude sketch with a short note allegedly signed by Trump. The message, addressed to Epstein, ended with the line, “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday, and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Trump’s printed name and signature appeared on the page.
On Monday, Trump called the matter a “hoax,” urging congress to drop the issue and focus on other work.
White House said Trump's legal team will continue pursuing action against Wall Street Journal, which first reported on the letter in July. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “As I have said all along, it’s very clear president Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.”
