NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Saudi Arabia from April 22 to 23, 2025, at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman.
This will be Prime Minister Modi’s third official visit to the Kingdom, following previous trips in 2016 and 2019.
According to ministry of external affairs (MEA), the visit comes in the backdrop of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ’s state visit to New Delhi in September 2023, when he attended the G20 Summit and co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council .
India and Saudi Arabia share a longstanding relationship rooted in historical trade and socio-cultural links.
Over the past decade, bilateral ties have expanded significantly into various strategic areas, including political cooperation, defence, security, energy, trade and investment, healthcare, education, and technology.
The MEA said that the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit reflects the importance New Delhi places on its relationship with Riyadh. It added that the trip will allow both sides to strengthen their “multi-faceted partnership” and discuss key regional and global developments of mutual interest.
The visit is expected to focus on advancing cooperation in priority sectors, consolidating strategic partnerships, and building upon the outcomes of recent high-level exchanges.
