Mumbai: Sameer Khan , son-in-law of NCP functionary Nawab Malik , succumbed to injuries on Sunday after a tragic accident in Sept had left him with a severe brain clot. Khan had been under observation at the intensive care unit at Criticare Hospital , Kurla, before he passed away, despite weeks of medical intervention, reports Ahmed Ali.

Nawab Malik confirmed the news on X, posting: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return). My son-in-law, Sameer Khan, has passed away. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah."

Malik also announced that he would be postponing all public engagements for the next two days.

The accident occurred in Sept outside Criticare Hospital in Kurla, where Khan and his wife, Nilofar, had been waiting for their driver after a routine check-up. According to Kaptan Malik, Nawab Malik's brother, the driver, Abdul Ansari, was asleep inside the vehicle and the driver accidentally accelerated instead of braking when alerted by a security guard. This mistake led SUV to move forward, pushing Khan approximately 10-15 feet and pinning him against the boundary wall of a nearby SRA building.
