"She was returning home from school on Friday evening. It was at around 4.30 pm when the trio, who were in an SUV going towards the direction of the girl's home, offered her a lift. The girl boarded the car, not knowing what was to follow. Instead of driving her home, they turned the car in another direction. They were possibly waiting for sundown and cover of darkness. They lied to her saying there was some glitch in the car and would get it fixed before dropping her. However, as it turned out, two of them, one aged around 25 years and the other married and aged around 30 years, raped her. The third, who was driving the car, molested her. As per the law, all three have been booked for rape. The two, who raped her, have been arrested up while the third behind the wheel is on the run. Searches are ongoing and he will be nabbed soon," additional SP Betul, Kamla Joshi, told TOI.

"After raping her, they dropped her off at Aamla railway station. Scared, the girl did not return home and slept in the waiting room of the railway station, instead. Her family members did not lodge a complaint with the police, possibly assuming that she stayed at a friend's place after school and would return the day after, as she had done once before," the officer added.

"Around 10 am on Saturday, some police personnel on routine patrol spotted her at the station and grew suspicious. Soon, our teams reached the waiting room where she sat scared and traumatised. It was while she was being counselled that she broke her silence and narrated her ordeal. Her parents were informed and were also brought (to the police station). Later, a case was registered and a manhunt launched to nab the accused. Two of the accused have been arrested and searches are ongoing to nab the third," she added.
