JAMMU : The annual Amarnath Yatra remained suspended for the second consecutive day Friday, because of inclement weather, officials said.
No fresh batch of pilgrims was allowed to set out from Jammu via the twin routes — Baltal and Pahalgam — for the holy cave shrine nestled in the Himalayas.
This is the second suspension of this year’s annual pilgrimage. Earlier, on July 17, it had been stopped temporarily due to heavy rains at the twin base camps in Kashmir.
This year’s Amarnath Yatra commenced on July 3 and will end on Aug 9, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
