Apple may launch the next entry-level iPad with Apple Intelligence support in 2025

Send Push
Apple 's most affordable iPad model is expected to receive an update with Apple Intelligence capabilities in late 2025. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this update is likely to bring the budget-friendly tablet in line with Apple's broader push towards integrating AI across its devices.

Apple entry-level iPad launch : What to expect

Apple iPad launch timeline suggests a significant delay since the last refresh of the entry-level iPad (1oth gen) in October 2022. This delay may be due to the technical challenges of incorporating Apple Intelligence features into a device with a lower price point.

Gurman also predicts that the iPhone SE will gain Apple Intelligence capabilities in March 2025. He also claimed that nearly all Apple devices with a screen will support Apple Intelligence by 2026. This indicates Apple's commitment to making AI accessible across its product lineup.

While Apple recently updated the iPad mini with Apple Intelligence and lowered the price of the existing iPad 10, it seems unlikely that a new entry-level iPad will be announced this month.

New iPad mini with Apple Intelligence: Key highlights

Last week, Apple launched the iPad mini model that comes with Apple Intelligence support in India. The 7th-generation iPad mini, which retains its familiar mini-sized design, now comes with the A17 Pro chip , which is the same chip that powered last year’s iPhone 15 Pro models.

Starting at Rs 49,900 (for the Wi-Fi model) and Rs 64,900 (for the cellular version), the new iPad mini is already available for pre-order and will hit the shelves on October 23. The latest iPad mini models will be available in four colours, including new blue and purple options.

The new iPad mini features the A17 Pro chip which offers a significant performance boost while retaining its compact 8.3-inch display size. Connectivity is enhanced with Wi-Fi 6E and a faster USB-C port, and storage options now include 128GB and 512GB. The updated mini also supports the Apple Pencil Pro.
