The New Orleans Saints suffered a 33-10 loss against the Denver Broncos , leading to rumors that running back Alvin Kamara requested a trade. Kamara's poor performance this season, including a 10-yard rush and six passes for 14 yards, sparked speculation about a possible trade. However, Kamara clarified that he has made no such demands and shared a heartwarming moment with his former coach, Sean Peyton , on Twitter. The rumors were fueled by Kamara's performance.

Alvin Kamara clarified that he has made no trade requestNew Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara denied rumors of a trade request on Saturday, stating that the post on Twitter was "incorrect" and confirming his request. He first reshared a post and replied that it was “incorrect.” In another post, he clarified, “I ain’t request a trade.. so that’s a lie. I’m in an orange robe on the way to Knoxville, [Tenn.]” Kamara also dismissed rumors of a trade as a lie and suggested he was watching his alma mater, Tennessee, face Alabama in a key SEC game. Kamara later confirmed he has not asked for a trade and expressed his desire to spend the rest of his career in New Orleans.

Trade speculation began after Kamara's worst game of the season, with only 10 yards on seven carries and six passes for 14 yards in the Saints' 33-10 loss to the Broncos. Kamara started the season with a spectacular start, rushing for 362 yards and five touchdowns, and catching 17 passes for 174 yards and one score. However, over the past three weeks, he has rushed for only 76 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries, along with 17 receptions for 78 yards.

The Saints, who had the best offense in the league under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak , have lost five consecutive games and averaged only 17.2 points per game. The loss is attributed to injury to veteran quarterback Derek Carr, while rookie fifth-round pick Spencer Rattler has started the past two contests. Kamara, a versatile and productive running back, has earned five Pro Bowl selections in his eight-year career. The Saints rewarded him with a five-year, $75 million contract in 2020, which is set to expire at the end of the 2025 season.

The Saints may consider trading Kamara if they continue to struggle and fall out of the playoff race, regardless of whether he wants to be traded.
