Joe Rupp builds a life-sized Josh Allen mailbox in Lancaster
Joe Rupp, a 58-year-old retired postal worker from Lancaster, New York, built the mailbox outside his home at 17 Park Edge Drive, which matches Allen’s jersey number — 17. He spent three months creating it in secret before revealing it to his neighbors.
Dick’s Sporting Goods donated a six-foot mannequin, which Rupp dressed in a full Buffalo Bills uniform and helmet. The result looks just like Josh Allen ready for game day.
“He’s got his big, handsome, smiling face looking out of the helmet. He’s dressed like he would look for game day,” Rupp told WKBW Buffalo .
The mailbox has a motion-sensor sound box inside. When someone walks by, it plays Bills-themed clips, including Allen’s 2024 MVP speech: “Be good … do good … God bless … and go Bills.”
Neighbors now stop to laugh, wave, and take pictures. Rupp unveiled it just in time for the Bills’ preseason opener.
Joe Rupp’s family project honors Josh Allen
Rupp said the idea came while walking with his grandson. “It’s a family project, not a me project. I wanted everyone to be a part of it,” he told WKBW.
