The Seattle Mariners have shown some brilliant fighting spirit yet again by coming back from five runs behind to beat the A’s 6-5. With this win, Mariners have gotten their ninth straight series victory, which is their solid rally and longest win since 2001. Now, the Mariners have a three-game lead in their division, and they are doing much better than they were at this time last year.
Team manager Dan Wilson praises rally
While the Seattle Mariners had Leody Taveras having the game to a brilliant point, he then scored the winning run after Dylan Moore hit a big double.
Team manager Dan Wilson praised Mariners’ rally, he said:
“It's almost like a broken record, just how well these guys keep fighting and come back."
The newest addition to the team, Leody Taveras, too managed to remain calm in a big moment. After he was able to strike out, at least twice earlier, he was able to hit a fast pitch to the opposite field. These moments showed how strong the Mariners' offense has become this season, especially in tough late moments. Praising Taveras, Wilson said:
“A great at-bat, He got a pitch that he was looking for that was maybe a little bit higher in the zone. And instead of trying to do too much, just stay with it.”
Rowdy Tellez scores homer
Rowdy Tellez, who managed to secure a homer just in time, also explained his perspective. He said:
“There's really no panic right now, and I think that's big for us, Everybody's leaning on each other and trusting each other. Everybody is putting together good at-bats.”
Even manager Dan Wilson reacted saying:
“The good at-bats just were very contagious.”
Fans react to Mariners’ performance
Fans, however, claimed to have mixed reactions, even after their perfect rally.
While a fan said:
“Please don’t jinx it.”
Another fan claimed:
“The best part is pitching has not been anywhere as good as last year to start. It's our hitting and it's so fun to watch.”
Another fan reacted saying:
“Nice to see them back and competing strong.”
Another fan praised the momentum and said:
“What a start,The energy feels like 2001 all over again, let’s keep the momentum going.”
