Scott Adams, the cartoonist who created the iconic Dilbert comic strip, is battling cancer. In a post shared on X on 2 November, the cartoonist directly appealed to US President Donald Trump for help. “On Monday, I will ask President Trump, via X, to help save my life. He offered to help me if I needed it. I need it,” Adams said. “I am declining fast.”
Adams has metastatic prostate cancer. He revealed his diagnosis earlier this year.
What is prostate cancer?
Prostate cancer is a form of cancer in which cells in the prostate gland start to grow out of control, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). This gland is found only in biological males and is responsible for producing the fluid that forms part of semen.

Out of every 100 American men, about 13 will develop prostate cancer during their lifetime, and about two to three men will die from it, according to the CDC. In some men, prostate cancer grows slowly; however, in others, it can spread quickly, making it harder to treat. Early diagnosis is crucial for better treatment options, outcomes, and long-term survival.
Metastatic prostate cancer is prostate cancer that has spread from the prostate gland to other parts of the body, such as the bones, lymph nodes, lungs, or liver. This means the cancer is at an advanced stage. Metastatic prostate cancer is also known as stage 4 prostate cancer.
What are the symptoms of metastatic prostate cancer? According to the ACS, advanced prostate cancer can cause urination problems and may lead to blood in the urine or semen. Other symptoms include:
Scott Adams has an advanced form of prostate cancer. He revealed his diagnosis in a May episode of his YouTube show Real Coffee with Scott Adams. “I have the same cancer that Joe Biden has. I also have prostate cancer that has spread to my bones, but I've had it longer than he’s had it—well, longer than he’s admitted having it,” Adams said.
Meanwhile, in his recent post on X, the cartoonist also revealed that he will be taking the new targeted radiotherapy drug Pluvicto to treat the cancer. “My healthcare provider, Kaiser of Northern California, has approved my application to receive a newly FDA-approved drug called Pluvicto. But they have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it and I can’t seem to fix that,” he said.
Adams’s condition is worsening. “I am declining fast,” the cartoonist said. “I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday. That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer. It is not a cure, but it does give good results to many people.”
