During a dinner outing on Sunday night in Washington DC, Homeland Security Secretary Kristy Noem got her pricey Gucci bag stolen. The purse, reportedly, contained almost $3,000 in cash. Noem, 53, was eating out at The Capital Burger about one mile northeast of the White House.
As per the report of The Post, Noem recounted that she felt something brush past her leg, but she initially thought that it must have been one of her grandchildren before realizing her bag was missing.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem's handbag, which was recently stolen from a Washington, D.C. restaurant, contained several personal and official items, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security . Among the contents were her driver’s license, passport, DHS badge, makeup, personal checks, bank card, healthcare card, medication, and apartment keys.
The stolen handbag was a Gucci B large shoulder bag, a designer item that retails for $4,400 on the brand’s official website. Inside the larger bag was a Louis Vuitton Clemence purse, which is valued at approximately $600, based on a police complaint.
According to the incident report, Noem had placed the Gucci bag on the ground beside her table when it was taken.
Security footage reviewed by the Secret Service shows a white male suspect wearing a ball cap, dark pants, a “fur-type” collar, and an N95 surgical mask. The man was seen grabbing the bag and quickly exiting the restaurant. As of Monday afternoon, the suspect remained unidentified.
