After making a splash with his digital debut in 2023, Shahid Kapoor is all set to return in the much-awaited second season of the Raj and DK thriller 'Farzi'.

The first season, which ended on a gripping cliffhanger featuring Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon, left fans wanting more of the high-octane series. Now, new reports suggest that Farzi 2 is scheduled to go on floors this December.

According to a report on Mid-Day, creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are currently focused on wrapping up their ongoing project Rakht Brahmand. Once completed, the duo will move into pre-production for the Farzi sequel.

Buzz is that the makers are eyeing an OTT release in the latter half of 2026.

Earlier this year, both Shahid and co-star Raashii Khanna had confirmed that work on Farzi 2 was imminent, fuelling anticipation among fans. This update also comes as reports confirmed that Raj & DK's spy series Citadel: Honey Bunny starring Samantha and Varun Dhawan, has been cancelled.

Before returning to the role in Farzi 2, Shahid is expected to complete shooting for Cocktail 2, the sequel to the 2012 romantic drama Cocktail, which originally starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. The sequel will reportedly feature Kapoor alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon.

Shahid also has Shootout At Byculla in the works, along with Arjun Ustara also in production. He also has the mythological drama 'Ashwatthama - The Saga Continues' which is also gearing up to go on floors soon.
