Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's son Ibrahim Ali Khan made his debut with 'Nadaaniyan' which released on OTT. It was produced by Karan Johar and had Khushi Kapoor opposite him. The film faced a lot of backlash and both Ibrahim and Khushi faced criticism for their acting. The internet was flooded with criticism for them and many also felt that perhaps people were being more harsh towards them because they are starkids. Now Ibrahim has opened up on the advice he got from his father Saif Ali Khan after the backlash.
He also revealed that it was a text from Priyanka Chopra which really motivated him. When asked about the best advice he got, he told GQ, "From two people. My dad said this is not the year 2000 when a star can just walk around in a movie and it can be a blockbuster. Today you must be very prepared, and be a quick learner. Most importantly, he said the script and the filmmaker are two things you cannot compromise on."
Ibrahim revealed further, "The second one was from – Priyanka Chopra. She sent me a very sweet -message saying she watched the film and thinks I have a bright future. She said I have to hold my head high and keep grinding; and that I must grow a thick skin. Coming from someone as accomplished as she is, I felt really comforted and motivated.”
Meanwhile, Ibrahim's grandmom Sharmila Tagore had also reacted to 'Nadaaniyan'. She had said in an interview with Anandabazar Patrika, "Sara and Ibrahim are doing a wonderful job. Ibrahim’s film was not good, but he still looks very handsome. He has tried his best. These things shouldn’t really be said in front of everyone, but honestly, the film (Nadaaniyan) isn’t great. Ultimately, the film has to be good.”
