'Singham' launched the successful partnership between Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, establishing their cop universe. Now, a decade later, they return with Singham Again. Before its Diwali release, the duo attended a special screening of Singham in Mumbai, discussing their filmmaking experience and the creation of the iconic line, 'Ata Majhi Satakli.'
When asked about the iconic dialogue, Rohit revealed that they had simply written the characters, Singham and villain Jaykant Shikre (played by Prakash Raj), in Maharashtrian. He noted that the line, which only appears once in the film, unexpectedly became a cultural phenomenon. Rohit emphasized that they never anticipated its impact; it was just a line to them at the time.
Ajay shared similar thoughts, stating that at the time, it was merely a line. He explained that many lines go unnoticed during filming, and while creating the scene, it felt just like any other line. Over time, however, it transformed into a cult favourite.
In a press release, the producers announced that the decision to re-screen Singham in theaters was driven by the immense fan demand to relive the excitement of the mass entertainer before the release of Singham Again.
Singham Again features Kareena Kapoor alongside Arjun Kapoor, who takes on the role of the antagonist. The film expands the cop universe by bringing in Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar, while also introducing new characters portrayed by Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff. It is set to hit theaters on November 1, coinciding with the Diwali weekend.
