CBSE supplementary exam 2025 registration begins for private students: Apply online by this date

The Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) has commenced the registration process for the 2025 supplementary examinations for private candidates of Class 10 and Class 12. The registration window is open from May 30 to June 17, 2025. Eligible students can submit their applications through the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in.

Private candidates who appeared in the 2025 board examinations and fall under the 'compartment' category are eligible to apply. Additionally, students who have passed but wish to improve their performance can register for the supplementary exams. Regular students who have received a 'compartment' status must apply through their respective schools.
CBSE supplementary examination scheduleThe supplementary examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 are scheduled to commence on July 15, 2025. A detailed date sheet will be released by CBSE in due course.

CBSE class 10 students are permitted to appear in up to two subjects, while class 12 students can opt for improvement in one subject.
How to apply for CBSE supplementary exams?Private candidates can follow these steps to apply:

Visit the official CBSE website: cbse.gov.in.

Navigate to the 'Private Candidate Supplementary Examination 2025' section.

Fill in the required details and select the subjects for which you wish to appear.

Upload the necessary documents and photographs.

Pay the application fee through the available payment modes.

Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates must ensure accuracy in subject selection and personal details during registration, as no corrections will be allowed after submission. Admit cards for the supplementary exams are likely to be made available in the first week of July 2025.
Application FeeThe application fee for private candidates is as follows:

• Within India: Rs. 300 per subject
  
• Nepal: Rs.1,000 per subject
  
• Other countries: Rs.2,000 per subject
  

A late fee of Rs.2,000 will be applicable for applications submitted after the deadline. Payments can be made via debit card, credit card, or net banking.
