HYDERABAD: Telangana is all set to get its second dedicated plastics park near Shamshabad after the one at Mankhal as well as a dry port at Manoharabad, a top Telangana government official said on Friday.
“We are in the process of finalising the location. Given the rising demand, the government is actively considering this expansion in consultation with the industry,” Dr E Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, vice chairman & managing director, TGIIC, said on Friday.
Speaking at the 4 th edition of the Telangana and Andhra Plastics Manufacturers Association (TAAPMA)’s flagship Polymers Conference 2025, Dr Reddy said Telangana’s first dry port will come up at Manoharabad and will be developed as a multi-modal logistics hub under a PPP model.
The TGIIC VC & MD also said there are two more dry ports in the pipeline in addition to the proposed one at Manoharabad.
On industry concerns about the skyrocketing land prices in and around Hyderabad, Dr Reddy said land rates in plastic parks would be frozen until 50% occupancy is achieved.
To support MSMES, he also announced the rollout of flatted factory sheds and plug-and-play facilities at subsidised rates, with three such units ready for occupation.
All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) senior vice president Anil Reddy Vennam urged the government to set up a dedicated plastics recycling park and allocate 500 acres of land for the TAAPMA-led development.
