Kanpur: The corporator of Kidwai Nagar ward alleged that he and his associates received death threats and were physically attacked while they tried to rescue a kidnapped Delhi girl from a Muslim family in the area on Saturday. Later, the corporator and his supporters gathered at the Kidwai Nagar police station to protest.
After the corporator in his complaint accused the Muslim family of "love jihad," the police filed a case against the accused father and son and began their investigation.
Inspector Kidwai Nagar police station Dharmendra Ram said that a teenage girl went missing from the Narela area in Delhi, and her family filed a report at the local police station accusing a young man of luring and kidnapping her.
On Saturday, the Delhi police arrived in Kidwai Nagar with the girl's mother, and informed the local authorities that the girl and the young man's location was traced to the area. Local corporator Hari Swaroop Tiwari was contacted for assistance, and based on the location, the police were led to a house near the Loha Park owned by Munna Furniture. The police broke open the door and found the girl and the young man.
The corporator alleged that several people were illegally residing in the house where the girl was found. When he assisted the police, Musharraf Ali and his son Asad Ali misbehaved with him, grabbed his shirt collar and threatened him with dire consequences.
Subsequently, they assaulted him with the help of others. The corporator then went to the Kidwai Nagar police station with his supporters and created a ruckus. Subsequently, a report was filed against the father-son duo.
