Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviews preps ahead of PM Modi's visit

Kanpur: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kanpur on April 24, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took stock of various projects and inspected the venue for the public meeting, thermal power initiatives, and metro rail development work on Sunday.

Accompanied by public representatives, the CM reviewed security arrangements, traffic control plans, and facilities like water supply, seating arrangement, and cleanliness at the venue. He instructed the officials concerned to complete all arrangements to avoid any inconvenience to the people.

The CM inspected the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project (3x660 MW) worth Rs 21,780 crore. The first unit (660 MW) of the project is valued at Rs 9,337 crore and operates under the collaborative supervision of the Union ministry of coal and Uttar Pradesh's energy department. Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited, a joint venture of NLCIL and UPRVUNL, manages the project implementation.

Yogi also visited the Panki Thermal Expansion Project (1x660 MW) worth Rs 8,305 crore.

The CM travelled from Nayaganj to Rawatpur station on the newly constructed metro, operated by Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation. He reviewed the progress of the metro project, passenger amenities, operational efficiency, station cleanliness, and passenger security measures.

He emphasised the importance of timely project completion and said the new projects would significantly contribute to the progress of both Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh.

Besides the CM, BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary, deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and Assembly speaker Satish Mahana will attend the PM's event.
