Itanagar: Naharlagun police have arrested the main drug supplier from Assam linked to a narcotics case registered at the Naharlagun police station, officials said on Tuesday.
Based on inputs obtained during an interrogation of two earlier suspects, a joint police team from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam arrested Aamir Ali (39), son of Matlab Ali and resident of Banderdewa in Assam. The arrest followed a raid conducted at Brahmaputra Nagar near Dikrong riverbank in Assam on Monday. During the operation, police seized 20 vials of heroin weighing approximately 27.9 grams.
The raid was coordinated by Naharlagun police station officer-in-charge inspector Krishnendu Dev, alongside SIs Vivek Linggi and T Sarke, as well as other personnel, with support from the Assam Police.
Two co-accused, Techi Lez and Tana Jamja, were arrested the day prior in the same case.
