Jessel Taank on Diwali Ball 2024Jessel, who is married to financier Pavit Randhawa, spoke exclusively to Zoom about this year's All That Glitters Diwali Ball at the Pierre Hotel. She stated, "I remember when Diwali used to be me and my family, and I used to cry because I didn't want to wear Indian clothes. It was this very private, small affair. And now, thanks to a couple of very ambitious people, Diwali has become such a glamorous affair. I read an article about how it's considered the new Chinese New Year where there's so much marketing, branding, and energy around it."
Sabyasachi, Falguni and Shane Peacock dressed all the VIPs. She wore a strapless mermaid feather gown by Falguni Shane Peacock. Jessel added, "It's getting bigger and more glamourous and more elaborate as the years have gone on. It's almost like the Indian MET Ball. It's all about the fashion; it's all about the press. It's just sensational. I'm so proud to be a part of it." ALSO READ: Jessel also praised Bollywood's Nora Fatehi for her electrifying dance performance at the ball. She said, "Everyone was so excited about Nora. She came out like a wrecking ball, and people were like their jaws were on the floor. She's such a great performer." Jessel Taank on global ambassador Priyanka ChopraThe RHONY star has a close relationship with Priyanka Chopra's manager, Anjula Acharia, and she went on to praise the Quantico actress for representing India so well internationally. Jessel said, "Priyanka Chopra has been sort of really leading the charge of putting India on the map, I think globally. She really has been the biggest ambassador for the country, and people love and respect her so much. Every time I see her on a talk show or in an ad campaign, I'm so proud to see how far she's come. She's one of the few people, I would say coming out of Bollywood, that's managed to transcend those boundaries. It's impressive; she's paving the way for a lot of Indian women, and I mean, what a superstar!"
