Delhi Blast: CRPF School Chosen As Target To 'Send A Message', Say Sources

New Delhi: The CRPF school in Delhi was specifically selected for the blast to "send a message or a signal", Times Now has learnt. The loud explosion damaged the wall of the school in Prashant Vihar area of Rohini. No one was injured in the incident, officials said.The loud explosion was reported at 7:47 AM."The "usual time" and the location target which is not in central Delhi is a matter that is being probed by the investigators," sources said.The day of the incident - on karwa chauth - has set a security alarm in the national capital. "The timing and location clearly show that whoever placed and triggered the blast wanted to send a message. Agencies will analyse the explosives to understand from where the suspect(s) procure the explosives," the source said.A preliminary probe has indicated the involvement of a crude bomb, Times Now has learnt. "Ammonia used in blast was "aquas" in nature. However, a large amount of explosives could not explode. There are material traces on the wall and street. Rest of the bomb or ammonia was scattered in the area," a source who is part of the investigation said.The Delhi Police has filed an FIR under the Explosive Act. The police, it is learnt, have requested NSG Bomb Disposal Squad team to analyse the explosive. A team has also been assigned to scan the CCTV footage to identify the cause of the explosion.Materials Sourced From Local Market Used In BlastThere is suspicion that the explosive contained ammonium nitrate and phosphorus, possibly made using materials sourced from a local market.The incident at the popular market on the day of Karva Chauth has alarmed investigators.

"The container in which the explosive was placed was not in the right direction, else the damage could have been more severe," a source said.Delhi Blast Similar To 2011 Bomb Blast In Delhi High CourtThis incident shares many similarities with the 2011 bomb blast in Delhi High Court. The explosive was placed in the car parking area of the High Court. No one was hurt in the incident."During the investigation, a large amount of explosives and other materials were recovered. Based on these similarities, the initial investigation is currently linking it to a radical group," the source added.ALSO READ: In a statement, police said they received a PCR call at 7.47 am regarding a loud blast."SHO/PV and staff reached at the spot, where the school wall was found damaged with a foul smell. The glasses of nearby shop and car parked near the shop were found to be damaged. No one was injured," they said."Crime team, FSL team and bomb disposal squad is called to the spot. Crime spot has been cordoned. Fire brigade team is on the spot. The matter is being looked into on the cause of blast," it said.
