A woman has left viewers astonished after showing off an "optical illusion" swimsuit. Swimsuit season is here and many British holiday makers are now stocking up for their vacations in , Portugal, Italy and .
While many will go to the high street to get their cossie, others will buy them online. Julie Ellen, a TikTok user who is over the age of 60, has shared the swimsuit she thinks that women her age should be buying this summer. In a video posted to the social media site, which has received more than 125,000 views since it was first shared, she describes the "optical illusion" swimsuit she is wearing and explains exactly how it tricks the eye to give a trimmer shape.
"If you only buy one swimsuit this year, this has to be the one," she says. The red swimsuit fits her perfectly and has white features on either side of it, creating a curvier figure illusion.
She continues: "Perfect design, perfectly flattering. The white stripes are cut to give an optical illusion that you have a more hur-glass shape than perhaps you have. This certainly isn't my shape."
The swimsuit is sold by TikTok seller Mooselover UK. It costs just under £20 when bought via TikTok Shop.
Ellen adds: "The straps are adjustable, the top is shaped and seamed to give you a little bit of lift. There are padded inserts. Of course, I have removed them."
The video received hundreds of comments from interested viewers. When one person said that they were unsure if they had the right body type for it, explaining that they are 5 feet 11 inches tall and a size ten, Ellen said that they would be "fine" because "the straps are adjustable". She added: "I have a very long body - short legs - and I had them at the shortest length and it was fine."
Another person wrote: "Woah! You look amazing! Stunning fit! [I'm] buying one."
A third said: "This looks made to measure especially for you. You look amazing."
A fourth commented: "You look lovely anyway but you're right, the red does give an optical illusion!"
