Upstairs, Downstairs star dead at 90 as fans pay tribute

British actress Jean Marsh, who is best known for her role in historical drama Upstairs Downstairs, has died from dementia related complications at the age of 90. The star was in her home in London with her close friend filmmaker Michael Lindsay-Hogg when she died.

Jean played strict parlourmaid Rose Buck in the ITV series, and went on to earn an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series after the role. She also co-wrote the show, which was set in Edwardian England.
