
champion has admitted that his wife Erica Stoll has been hesitant to move to the UK. The couple and their young daughter, Poppy, currently reside in Jupiter, Florida, where they purchased their £13.6million mansion in 2018.
However, they also now own a newly built house in Wentworth, England. McIlroy has recently said the family will move there following the US Open at Oakmont in June. That means he will be based in Britain and ensure himself a much shorter journey when the comes to Royal Portrush the following month.
After his historic win at Augusta, the 35-year-old . He spent time in his hometown of Belfast and also visited his new abode as builders were finishing off their work.
He's previously conceded that Stoll, whom he married in April 2017, initially wasn't keen on being based full-time in the UK but instead, favoured regular visits. In the Netflix documentary Full Swing, he opened up about the family's plans.

"If it were up to her, she wouldn't move to England straightaway," he admitted. "But she definitely wants to spend more time there."
Stoll, 37, is American and was raised in New York. She and McIlroy first met when she was working at the 2012 in Medinah, and the couple reconciled their differences last summer .
However, it seems their current location is not for her. On the docuseries, Martin Kaymer recalled one encounter with Stoll, saying: "I saw her at a Starbucks once, and she said, 'I really don't like the sun'. I said, 'Your state's called the Sunshine State, right?'"
McIlroy and Stoll will reportedly still own their house in Jupiter, where Tiger Woods and Brooks Koepka also reside. The Ryder Cup star, who first moved to America in 2011, also owns a house in Northern Ireland.
