Third-person multiplayer-centric shooter Helldivers 2 has been officially announced for Xbox Series X|S.
Originally released on PS5 and PC, Helldivers 2 is one of the best games of 2024 and proved to be something of a surprise hit.
The game ditched the original's top-down perspective in favour of third-person combat featuring dozens and dozens of enemies on screen at any given time.
Roughly 18 months after launching for PS5 and PC, Helldivers 2 will finally come to Xbox Series X and S in August.
According to developer Arrowhead, Helldivers 2 will have an August 26 release date for Microsoft's console.
The game is already available to pre-order on the Xbox Store, where it costs £34.99 for the standard edition and £51.99 for the Super Citizen Edition.
The Super Citizen Edition contains a variety of different in game items, including an armour set, a cape, a weapon and a Premium Warbond Token.
Warbonds are kind of like Battle Passes, containing various themed rewards that can be unlocked at any time.
Pre-order customers will also receive three different armour sets, including the TR-7 Ambassador of the Brand, the TR-62 Knight set and the TR-9 Cavalier of Democracy set.
Helldivers 2 is described as a "cooperative, third-person feast of destruction" that supports four-person co-operative multiplayer.
Arrowhead explains more: "You will have a host of superpowered, customisable primary weapons at your disposal, as well as the ability to call on more powerful weapons called stratagems during play - there's no limit to the damage you can do to the enemies of democracy."
Helldivers 2 also features a metagame of sorts, where players complete operations in order to liberate planets.
"Once you're enlisted, you'll be our boots on ground, fighting in the Galactic War, a real-time metagame where players work together to complete operations, liberate planets, and spread Managed Democracy to the furthest reaches of the galaxy," Arrowhead adds.
