host Nick Ferrari was fed up during a live broadcast and went into meltdown about complaints about the prospect of chlorinated chicken. The British journalist opened up a debate with callers amid s recent sweeping tariffs and questioned whether chlorinated chicken is a fair price for a US trade deal. Members of the public were complaining about the standards of chicken and fish being imported and washed with chlorine to sterilize the meat, but Nick didn't see what the problem was all about.
Going into a furious rant, Nick said to several callers: "Just eat the damn chicken. Dear God, if we're going to lose tens of thousands of jobs just because we won't eat chlorinated chicken - that is absurd! I would imagine most of us have had McDonald's or Wendy's abroad. Get over it; it'll be fine!"
Nick even quizzed Minister James Murray about whether he would eat chlorinated chicken, to which he laughed and replied, "I don't know if I ever have or haven't. I have been to the United States. I may or may not have had a chicken sandwich - not sure I checked."
Ferrari said, "Well, you look to be in fine health." Mr Murray then said, "Chlorinated chicken and hormone-treated beef will remain illegal in the UK."
Many fans reacted in the comments section to Nick's meltdown, with one person saying, "I thought Nick was on the side of British farmers. Clearly not the ethical and hygienic chicken ones, it seems."
A second person also commented on X, "I have no objection to Nick Ferrari eating all the chlorinated chicken he wants, but he should have to go to the USA to do it."
A third also echoed, "What does Nick think will happen to British farmers if Britain imports low-cost chlorinated chicken? And if Britain panders to Trump by lowing British standards on chicken, what next?" [sic]
A fourth also chimed in, "Nick describes the uncomfortable truth, people don't think twice about what they eat when in the US, so it makes no difference. For me it's about supporting our local businesses and farmers, we shouldn't even need to import chicken."
