
Drivers are facing traffic chaos on the M1 in Bedfordshire after a lorry caught fire. There are currently delays of 45 minutes on the motorway. A statement on the National Highways website said the busy road was closed southbound between J13 near (Milton Keynes) and J12 (Toddington).
It added: "Emergency services including Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management." A Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed that BFRS appliances were in attendance at a lorry fire on the southbound M1 between junctions 12 and 13.
