Liverpool 'make contact with Tchouameni' as Real Madrid eye Man City and Chelsea stars

have reportedly contacted Aurelien Tchouameni's representatives to gauge his interest in joining them from . The Reds tried to sign him before he arrived in the Spanish capital and were linked with a renewed pursuit in the summer.

Their interest has remained following the appointment of Arne Slot and a move is still under consideration, according to transfer expert . It is said that Liverpool have opened talks with Tchouameni's associates in the hope of finally bringing him to Anfield.

Real Madrid are thought to be open to selling the Frenchman, who they signed from Monaco in the summer of 2022. They would reportedly be willing to consider offers in the region of £50million after identifying a number of potential replacements.

The report adds that Real Madrid are keen on signing Rodri from Manchester City to shore up their midfield ranks. Chelsea playmaker Enzo Fernandez is listed as a back-up option in case the Premier League champions refuse to do business.

Liverpool are said to believe that Tchouameni has the ideal profile for their defensive midfield role under Slot. Ryan Gravenberch has excelled in that position of late but it seems the Reds are still looking to upgrade on the Dutchman.
