Ike Turner Jr - the adopted son of music legend Tina Turner - has died at the age of 67 in a Los Angeles hospital. The tragic news was confirmed by Tina's niece, Jacqueline Bullock, who opened up about Ike's years of health struggles. She revealed: "He had suffered from kidney failure after years of ill health," adding that he had been managing heart problems for several years in the lead up to his passing.

Reflecting on the medical challenges he faced, she added: "Last month, he also had a stroke". Born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr. was adopted by Tina Tuner, the ultimate queen of Rock 'n' Roll. Despite his famous parents, he preferred to stay out of the spotlight.

The Grammy award-winning artist endured significant loss throughout his life. He lost his father, Ike Turner Sr, back in 2007 before saying a final farewell to his adoptive mother Tina Turner in 2023. Friends and family say he carried their losses quietly, continuing to live life on his own terms while privately battling his own chronic health conditions.

The musician grew up amidst the whirlwind of Tina Turner's music career. After her split from Ike Sr, her son briefly worked as her sound engineer, though their partnership was short-lived. One of four children tied to Tina and Ike's iconic romance, he largely stayed away from the limelight but remained close with his parents.

Although he didn't grow up to be a similar public figure like they were, Ike Jr's life was tied to Tina's legacy, and his passing has been noted for the quiet resilience he maintained despite battling the pressures of fame and fortune surrounding him.

It comes after Tina passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 83. The What's Love Got To Do With It hitmaker, whose career spanned over six decades, died peacefully at her home in Switzerland, surrounded by her family.

Her death was caused by natural causes after years of declining health and private struggles with multiple ailments. Turner had faced numerous health challenges in the years leading up to her death.

She suffered a series of strokes, kidney failure, and battled cancer - all of which contribute to her fragile condition. In 2013, she underwent a kidney transplant, which extended her life but did not halt her ongoing health struggles. Despite these complications, Tina remained active in her later years, putting her energy into sharing her wisdom and reflecting on a life marked by resilience and extraordinary talent.

Born Anna Mae Bullock in 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee, Turner rose to worldwide fame in the 1960s as part of the duo Ike & Tina Turner. Following her troubled marriage to Ike Turner, she embarked on a hugely successful solo career that cemented her in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her death marked the end of an era for rock and soul music, leaving a legacy which has been celebrated by fans worldwide.
