Essen school stabbing LIVE: Knifeman at large after teacher attacked and police scrambled

A manhunt is under way for a knifeman who attacked a teacher inside a vocational college in Germany this morning.

The police have confirmed a police helicopter has been scrambled to the scene and locals in Essen have been urged to avoid the area while the search for the attacker is ongoing.

The teacher is said to be severely injured in hospital undergoing emergency surgery.
