Caitlin Clark health problem and WNBA star's true feelings on childhood condition

Caitlin Clark has previously disclosed a health issue that can affect her performance on the court. The 22-year-old has had an impressive debut season with Indiana Fever, smashing numerous records as point-guard and ultimately being crowned the WNBA's Rookie of the Year.

Despite appearing composed and in control with the ball under pressure, there is one ailment that occasionally hampers her performance. This is due to suffering from migraines since childhood, gradually learning how to effectively manage them during her games.

Discussing the condition earlier this year, Clark revealed: "Adrenaline is a lot of it for me, once the game stops, that's when I really feel it. It's tough, but honestly, I've suffered from them since I was a very young child, so I found a way to manage it and still carry on with my work."

Clark experienced a migraine during Fever's match against Phoenix Mercury earlier this year, despite scoring 15 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds and leading her team to an 88-82 victory. Always modest, Clark has also mentioned that she's grateful her health problem isn't more serious, acknowledging her fortune in this regard.

She further added: "Everybody around me knows that's what I deal with, and there are a lot bigger problems in the world. I'm lucky mine is just migraines, so I could have a lot worse things to deal with. Phoenix had a great crowd, a great environment. The lights in there were crazy, the music was crazy, so that certainly didn't help," reports .

"But, I mean, I honestly think it's adrenaline that gets me through most games." Iowa graduate Clark savoured an exceptional debut season with the Fever, smashing records by serving up the highest number of assists in one season at a staggering 337, along with netting an impressive league-best of 122 three-pointers, and shattering the record as the quickest female to hit the three-pointer milestone.

She further notched two triple doubles and marked the record for the most points scored by a point guard in a single season.

Riding on her extraordinary performance, she scooped up 66 out of 67 votes to clinch Rookie of the Year honours, with Chicago Sky's Angel Reese receiving the only other vote.
