What's Behind the Delhi Blast Near CRPF School? Uncovering Security Concerns

Authorities are investigating a blast that occurred outside the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Rohini, Delhi. Initial reports suggest that the materials used in the explosion resemble those of a crude bomb and emit a foul smell, according to sources from the Forensic Science Laboratory. A comprehensive forensic analysis is pending to determine the specifics.

A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and personnel from the National Disaster Relief Force were deployed to the explosion site, while National Security Guard (NSG) commandos assisted Delhi Police in the inquiry. The forensic team has collected samples from the area for further analysis.

Delhi Police spokesperson Sanjay Tyagi reported that a loud explosion was heard in the Prashant Vihar area this morning. "The police team quickly arrived at the scene, where they detected a foul odor and found broken glass and window panes within the school grounds. Senior officers, alongside experts from the Forensic Department and Special Cell, are conducting a thorough investigation," Tyagi said.

He added that while the investigation is ongoing, it would be premature to draw any conclusions regarding the cause of the blast. Earlier, the Delhi Police confirmed that at 07:47 AM, a call was received reporting a loud explosion near the CRPF school in Sector 14, Rohini. Upon arrival, officers found the school wall damaged, nearby shop windows shattered, and a parked car affected, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.

In light of the incident, security measures in Delhi have been heightened, especially in markets, as the city prepares for the upcoming Diwali celebrations.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has criticized the Central Government, led by the BJP, for the current law and order situation in the capital. She stated that the BJP is responsible for maintaining public safety but has failed to do so effectively.

"The responsibility for law and order in Delhi lies with the BJP's central government. However, they seem more focused on obstructing the elected government than addressing safety concerns. The current situation in Delhi resembles the Mumbai underworld era of the 1990s," Atishi remarked in a post on social media.

She highlighted concerns over rampant crime, including open shootings and extortion by gangsters, expressing doubt about the BJP's capability to govern. "If the people of Delhi were to mistakenly grant them control over the city, they would ruin our schools, hospitals, and basic services just as they have done with law and order," she warned.
