Greater Noida News: The upper part of the youth's body, hands, legs and private parts were badly burnt. He was immediately admitted to the district hospital. According to doctors, it will take time for the youth to recover.
A shocking incident has come to light from Greater Noida, UP, where a young man was seriously injured after a western toilet seat burst. The incident took place on Saturday in Sector-36 of Beta-2 police station area. The upper part of the body, hands, legs and private parts of 20-year-old Ashu, who was present in the toilet at the time of the accident, were badly burnt. He was immediately admitted to the district hospital, where according to doctors, it may take time for him to recover. This incident happened around three in the afternoon, when Ashu was flushing after defecation. As soon as he flushed, the seat burst with a loud bang. Hearing the sound of the blast, the family members ran and the injured Ashu was immediately taken to the hospital.
Sewer system failure!
Ashu's father Sunil Pradhan says that this accident may have happened due to the explosion of methane gas accumulated in the toilet. He told that the toilet is used regularly and there is a shaft between the toilet and the kitchen, in which the exhaust of the AC is installed. This explosion may have happened due to the accumulation of gas in the toilet, which should be investigated. Active Citizen Team member Harendra Bhati has also blamed the failure of the sewer system for the incident. He said that earlier vent pipes were installed in toilets, so that methane gas could easily escape into the atmosphere. But now that gas gets stuck inside the pipe, which increases the possibility of such dangerous accidents.
The authority said- will get the investigation done
Local residents allege that the broken sewer line near the P-3 roundabout has not been repaired for the last one and a half years. Due to this, the accumulation of gas can increase. People have accused the authority of negligence. On the other hand, Greater Noida Authority's ACEO Srilakshmi VS said that this is the first such case and it will be investigated. She said that the gases inside the sewer contain elements like methane, hydrogen sulphide. These are formed during anoxygenic decomposition, which can be explosive.
