There has been a major change in the all-rounder rankings in T20 Internationals. India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is no longer number one. Pakistan's Sam Ayub has taken his place.
India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has lost his number-1 position. The ICC released the T20 International rankings on Wednesday. This has resulted in a major change in the T20 International all-rounder rankings. Pakistan's Sam Ayub, who was dismissed for zero four times in the 2025 Asia Cup, has now become the world's number-1 all-rounder in T20 Internationals.
In the latest rankings, Hardik Pandya has slipped one spot to second, while Sam Ayub has jumped four places to number one. It's worth noting that Sam Ayub was dismissed for zero four times in the 2025 Asia Cup. In that tournament, he scored just 48 runs with the bat. However, Sam performed exceptionally well with the ball.
In the 2025 Asia Cup, Sam Ayub took two wickets for just eight runs against Oman. He also dismissed three batsmen against India. Ayub took a total of eight wickets in seven matches of this Asia Cup.
Abhishek Sharma created history
India's explosive opener Abhishek Sharma has created history in the batting rankings. He has become the batsman with the highest rating points. The 25-year-old broke a nearly five-year-old record by achieving his highest rating ever (931).
Abhishek scored 314 runs in seven matches of the Asia Cup 2025 at an average of 44.86. In the Super Four matches, he scored 74 against Pakistan and 75 against Bangladesh. Abhishek scored 61 against Sri Lanka and was named Player of the Tournament.
Abhishek Sharma, following his impressive performance in the Asia Cup, reached a rating of 931 points, surpassing the previous best rating of 919 points, which was achieved by England's right-handed batsman David Malan in 2020. Abhishek also surpassed Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli for the highest rating points.
