Send Push

This is the horrendous moment a brawl erupted at a busy tube station with two small children being caught in the mayhem.

The fight reportedly broke out between three men at Highbury and Islington Station at about 5:30pm on Thursday. In the clip, a group of men were seen rushing, punching and kicking each other as commuters raced to get away from the brawl. As the brawl erupted, a young toddler was spotted left at the bottom of the stairs. A baby in a buggy was seen crying as a man was repeatedly punched by a group of men. A man wearing a suit was then seen stomping on the head of a person wearing a grey tracksuit.

Another commuter was seen coming down the stairs in an attempt to pull the man away before another man intervened, though the pair were able to restrain him from being attacked.

The man wearing the suit then leaned over the divider on the stairwell that grabbed a rucksack and hauled it backward. Several people were then seen lifting the man in the tracksuit into the air as he started to lash out and kick the others.

Commuters could be seen waiting at the top of the stairs as they watched the chaos unfold while others tried to race past. One man could be seen attempting to crawl up the stairs as three men continued to hit him.

A woman, who was holding a buggy, could be heard screaming throughout the video as she tried to get to the toddler. A man who tried to detain the attacker eventually gave up and backed away from the brawl.

A second woman tried to resolve the situation but ultimately backed away when she nearly got punched. She went on to discourage a woman in a yellow dress from getting involved and was seen holding onto the arm of one of the attackers.

The woman then grabbed one of the other men as the video cut out. The British Transport Police said in a statement: "Officers received a report of a fight at Highbury and Islington Underground station at around 5.30pm yesterday. Officers are aware of footage circulating on social media, and the incident is currently being investigated.”

Further details are not yet known, although The Sunhas reported eyewitnesses have claimed one man punched the other as he was holding the baby, causing it to fall to the ground. This claim has not been verified.
