A flight was forced to make an urgent landing after a passenger allegedly urinated in the aisle of the plane.
Chaos sparked on an easyJet holiday flight from Birmingham to Tenerife on Wednesday afternoon. Crew members on the plane to Tenerife South Airport had requested police presence and medical assistance on the ground. Tensions on board reportedly escalated after a passenger urinated in the aisle of the flight, leading to the crew begging air traffic control for a priority landing at the airport for flight EZY6607.
Air traffic controllers had confirmed on X that there had been an incident on the easyJet flight to Tenerife but did not reveal what had happened. Today, Spanish newspaper Canarian Weekly revealed it was allegedly due to a passenger urinating in the aisle.

The flights approach to Tenerife South Airport was shortened as much as possible, to give the plane a faster arrival, by air traffic controllers after they received a warning from crew members.
This shocking incident reportedly happened during the final phase of the flight. Further details about the passenger, their condition and the situation that led to the alleged urination has not been revealed.
Canarian Weekly said the incident occurred on EasyJet flight EZY6607 which landed at Tenerife South Airport at 3.28pm from Birmingham.
The local paper said: "According to reports shared by air traffic controllers on social media platform X, the crew alerted authorities mid-flight about a passenger causing significant disturbance, prompting them to request police presence and medical support upon landing."
It added that the passenger has since been punished for the alleged act, saying: "The situation reportedly escalated when the passenger urinated in the aisle, an act that has since led to what sources describe as an “exemplary punishment,” though specific details of the sanction have not been officially confirmed." No further information has been released regarding the passenger’s condition.
Shockingly this has not been the first time a passenger on a flight to Tenerife has allegedly urinated in the aisle of the plane. Several flyers on board a Ryanair flight was reportedly arrested for causing trouble on their flight in November 2024.
The flight, which departed from East Midlands Airport, was set to land in Tenerife four and a half hours later but crew members were forced to contact Spanish authorities ahead of landing. During the flight, one passenger reportedly "urinated in the aisle of the plane", while other passengers were being "increasingly disruptive".
Although it is not clear how passengers on the flight were being disruptive, a source revealed to Travel and Tour World that "one passenger urinated on the floor along the middle of the aisle".
At the time, Ryanair said: "The crew of this flight from East Midlands to Tenerife (November 4) called ahead for police assistance after a small number of passengers became disruptive onboard. The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Tenerife Airport and these passengers were removed."
