Russia Launches Its Largest Airstrike Yet on Ukraine; Trump Expresses Outrage, Calls Putin "Crazy"

In a devastating escalation of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Russia has launched its most extensive airstrike on Ukraine to date, raining down hundreds of drones and missiles across major cities. The attack has prompted a fierce response from former U.S. President Donald Trump, who openly criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling his actions "crazy" and dangerous.

According to reports, Russia fired a total of 367 missiles and drones in a single night, targeting key Ukrainian cities including Kyiv. The Ukrainian Air Force successfully intercepted 45 missiles and 266 drones, yet the scale of destruction remains immense. More than 30 cities reported significant damage, and at least 12 civilians lost their lives in the attack. The incident is now being labeled as one of the deadliest aerial assaults since the war began.

Speaking to reporters at Morristown Airport in New Jersey, Trump did not hold back his frustration. "I’m very angry with Putin. He’s lost his mind. I don’t know what’s gotten into him," Trump said, referring to the brutal assault that left Ukrainian cities in ruins. Once known for maintaining a softer stance on Putin, Trump’s tone has shifted dramatically.

“Putin Has Lost Control,” Says Trump

While talking to the media, Trump reflected on his long-standing acquaintance with Putin, noting that their relations were once cordial. However, he emphasized that the current situation is completely unacceptable. "He’s bombing cities, he’s killing people—it’s sick. I don’t like what I’m seeing," Trump said sternly.

He added, "We’re talking, we’re trying, but something is clearly wrong. These attacks on Kyiv and other cities—this is very disturbing." His remarks indicate a growing concern not just over the war but over the direction in which global diplomacy is headed.

Trump Warns: Russia Is On the Path to Self-Destruction

Trump also took to social media, posting a strongly worded message against Putin’s military aggression. “I always had good relations with Putin, but now he’s completely lost it,” Trump wrote. “He’s killing innocent civilians, not just soldiers, and launching attacks without any justification.”

He reiterated his earlier warning that Putin doesn’t just want a part of Ukraine—he wants to take over the entire country. But in doing so, Trump warned, “Russia will destroy itself.”

Criticism of Ukrainian Leadership Too

Interestingly, Trump didn’t spare Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from criticism either. He expressed dissatisfaction with Zelenskyy’s rhetoric and approach, suggesting that his tone could be making matters worse. “The way Zelenskyy is speaking, it’s not helping Ukraine. His statements are only creating new problems,” Trump stated.

Trump also pointed out that the ongoing war is not his doing. “If I were President, this war would never have started,” he claimed. “This is Biden’s war, Putin’s war, and Zelenskyy’s war—not mine. I’m just trying to put out a fire that was started by hate and poor decisions.”

A Call for Peace Amid Rising Tensions

Trump’s comments come at a time when global tensions are flaring, and the human cost of war continues to rise. As Russia intensifies its military campaign, world leaders are increasingly alarmed by Putin’s actions. Trump's dramatic shift in stance and direct condemnation of Putin signals that even those once friendly with the Kremlin are now running out of patience.

The situation remains volatile, with fears of further escalation looming large. For now, the world watches anxiously as efforts to end the war and bring about peace seem further out of reach than ever.
