Indian Navy Successfully Conducts Anti-Ship Missile Firings, Makes Bold Statement Of Combat-Readiness (VIDEO)

In a strong show of maritime combat readiness, the Indian Navy recently carried out multiple successful anti-ship missile firings in the Arabian Sea. These exercises, aimed at revalidating the long-range offensive strike capabilities of the Navy’s platforms, systems, and personnel, reaffirm India’s commitment to safeguarding its maritime interests.

The Navy wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Indian Navy stands combat ready, credible and future-ready in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests, Anytime, Anywhere, Anyhow."

INS Surat Marks New Milestone With MR-SAM Test

In another significant development, the Indian Navy’s newest guided missile destroyer, INS Surat, successfully test-fired the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MR-SAM) system in the Arabian Sea. The precision firing took place just before Pakistan’s scheduled surface-to-surface missile tests, highlighting the Indian Navy's enhanced defensive preparedness.

"#IndianNavy's latest indigenous guided missile destroyer #INSSurat successfully carried out a precision cooperative engagement of a sea skimming target, marking another milestone in strengthening our defence capabilities," the Navy said in their X post.

With 75% indigenous content, INS Surat is part of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project and stands among the most advanced destroyers globally. The successful MR-SAM test also underlines India’s growing strength in self-reliant defence manufacturing and indigenous warship operations.

Naval Ships Conclude AIKEYME Exercise in Tanzania

Meanwhile, Indian Naval Ships INS Chennai and INS Kesari have completed their participation in the maiden edition of the AIKEYME exercise with the Tanzanian People's Defence Force (TPDF). The two ships sailed from Dar es Salaam on April 19 following the conclusion of the drill.

The Navy shared on X, "Marking the successful completion of the maiden edition of #AIKEYME exercise, the Indian Naval Ships #INSChennai and #INSKesari sailed from Dar es Salaam on #19Apr 25."

A comprehensive debrief, cultural programs, and official addresses marked the closing ceremony, attended by Maj Gen Gaguti, Chief of Personnel of the TPDF.
