Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Only 23.4% of accused were convicted in cases of atrocities against Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in Madhya Pradesh in 2024, making it the lowest conviction rate among major crime categories, according to figures released by the State Prosecution Office.
By comparison, cases investigated by the Lokayukta and Economic Offences Wing (EOW) led to convictions in over 65% of instances, despite operational hurdles like delayed investigations and procedural delays in charge sheet approvals.
