In a podcast with former Australia captain Michael Clarke, Rohit spoke about the challenges his team faced during their ICC Champions Trophy campaign. He said that ODI cricket always offers a challenge that no other format offers.

Rohit stressed that despite the growing popularity of T20 cricket in the current system, ODI cricket remains one of the most respected formats of the game. He said that he has a deep connection with the 50-over format, which is linked to his formative years as a cricketer. Rohit said, I know that a lot of things are said about ODI cricket whether it is permanent or not. We all have grown up watching the ODI World Cup and, the ICC Champions Trophy and we have also played this game. All those matches are exciting. I know that those are things of the past because people are now watching T20 cricket, but the challenge of ODI cricket is different.

India won the Champions Trophy under Rohit's captaincy.

India recently won the Champions Trophy title under Rohit's captaincy. Rohit scored 180 runs in five matches during this period. He scored 76 runs off 83 balls in the final match against New Zealand, which helped India win the title. Rohit's record in ODIs is quite good. He has scored 11138 runs in 273 matches. He also impressed in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Currently, Rohit is participating in IPL 2025 and representing Mumbai Indians. Rohit's bat has been silent in the IPL so far and he has scored 56 runs in five matches at an average of 11.20. Rohit has also appeared as an impact player in some matches this time.
