Chennai Super Kings clinched a chaotic two-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders with two balls to spare at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday, May 7. With this win, CSK ended their four-match winless streak.

Batting first, KKR posted 179/6. Skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, top-scored with 48 (33). Andre Russell powered a late surge with 38 off 21. Manish Pandey remained unbeaten on 36* (28) at the end. For CSK, Ravichandran Ashwin was miserly, giving away just 19 in three overs. Notably, Noor Ahmad starred with figures of 4/31 in four overs.

In reply, CSK suffered early setbacks with Ayush Mhatre and Devon Conway falling for two-ball ducks early in the run-chase. IPL debutant, Urvil Patel, impressed with a rapid 31 off 11. Dewald Brevis led the chase with a blazing 52-run knock off just 25 deliveries. stayed unbeaten. Coming in as an Impact Player, Shivam Dube (45 off 40), anchored the innings. For KKR, Varun Chakravarthy stood out with 2/18 in his four-over quota.

The 11th over of the run-chase completely changed the complexion of the game. Brevis dismantled Arora to bring the required run rate down quite substantially.
