From 15 August, i.e., Independence Day, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is going to start the FASTag Annual Pass. This is going to prove to be a very useful service for those who usually pass through the highway. Country Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that this is to make toll payment easier. How does FASTag's Annual Pass work

Under the FASTag Annual Pass, personal vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans will get the benefit of 200 toll crossings or travel for up to a year for Rs 3000. Understand it like this: for this amount, you can use the FASTag Annual Pass for one year. If you cross 200 toll plazas within 1 year, then you will have to recharge again.

How to get a FASTag Annual Pass

There is no need to buy this FASTag Annual Pass separately; rather, it will be linked to the existing FASTag. This pass will work only on National Highways and Expressways under NHAI and the Ministry of Road Transport. It is very easy to buy this Annual Pass. First of all, go to the Rajmarg Yatra app or the NHAI's official website. Log in by entering your vehicle number and FASTag ID. Then pay Rs 3000; you can make this payment through UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking. After this, the Annual Pass will be linked to your existing FASTag. You will get an SMS of activation on 15th August.

What is the benefit of the FASTag Annual Pass?

The biggest advantage of this pass is that there will be no need to recharge online again and again. This is going to be very beneficial for drivers who travel on highways daily or frequently. Keep in mind, this pass will work only for a registered vehicle; it cannot be transferred to any other vehicle. This pass will work only on National Highways and National Expressways under NHAI. For example, the pass will be valid on routes like Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Mumbai-Nashik, Mumbai-Surat, and Mumbai-Ratnagiri. However, an Annual Pass will not work on State Highways or Municipal Toll Roads. Your FASTag will work normally on State Highways, and tolls will be deducted at normal rates.

Rules related to FASTag Annual Pass

From August 15, the FASTag Annual Pass will work at the toll plazas of NHAI or the Ministry of Road Transport. This pass is only for personal vehicles, not valid for commercial vehicles. This pass will work only for registered vehicles; it will not be refunded. If the Annual Pass expires, you can apply again.
