Martin Brundle was blanked by Franco Colapinto at the end of his grid walk.

As usual, the favourite was buzzing around the grid half-an-hour before lights out in Austin on Sunday. He started by chatting to before moving on to .

He then spoke with a couple of Olympic gold medallists, sprinter Gabby Thomas and pole vault champion Armand Duplantis, both of whom were very happy to give him some of their time. But racer Colapinto certainly wasn't as he dodged the advances of the Sky F1 stalwart.

approached the Argentine and asked if he could have a word as he made his way to the front of the grid for the national anthem. But Colapinto simply smiled awkwardly and quickened his pace to get past Brundle.

"Hello, my name is Martin Brundle, Sky - we have not met. Can we have a chat?" Brundle began, before Colapinto simply walked straight by. And so the experienced broadcasted continued: "Ah well, I think that is the answer to that."

Naturally, the moment did not go unnoticed by fans, many of whom took to social media to react to what they had just seen. "Franco Colapinto was having absolutely none of Martin Brundle," wrote one.

Another said: "Lol at Franco Colapinto leaving Martin Brundle high and dry." And a third joked: "I am not an expert in body language, but I don't think Colapinto was interested in talking to Martin Brundle."

Colapinto is still very new to the F1 grid having been called up only last month by Williams to replace until the end of the season. He has impressed with his performances so far, but cannot win a seat with the team for 2025 as has already been signed to partner next year.

He was clearly in a hurry and drivers are reprimanded if they are not present in time for the national anthem performance before a race. Despite that, and the fact he had never met Brundle before, some fans did not take too kindly to the youngster's snub.

"Seriously, blanking an F1 legend like Brundle won't make you any friends, show some respect," one wrote. And another asserted: "Franco Colapinto will straight up regret blanking and being rude to Martin Brundle."
