Katya Jones and Wynne Evans slam Strictly conspiracy as they reveal what happened on Saturday

and Katya Jones have rubbished rumours they'd fallen out on on Saturday night.

Following the furore two weeks ago in which they were forced to apologise for a misjudged "joke" when the Welsh warbler's , they're in the line of fire again.

After a bouncy quickstep in which Wynne, 52, was squirted with mayonnaise, the pair hot-footed it to chat to Claudia Winkleman. However, when the GoCompare star failed to appear in the 'Clauditorium', fans thought something was up.

Talking to Radio Wales, clearing up the "conspiracy theories", Wynne revealed he'd had a wardrobe malfunction, explaining: "The reality was, I had to go and get my trousers redone because they were sticking to the sticky tape on the side of the studio. So I wasn't in the Clauditorium for a little bit because I was being sewn into my costume downstairs."

Viewers were convinced something was amiss between the couple during the show as one asked: "Have we seen much of Wynne in the Clauditorium this evening? Don't remember seeing him at all." Meanwhile, others were concerned for the star, as one said: "Wynne is a shell of his former self. It was a great performance, given what has happened this week, be kind."

Despite making the headlines for all the wrong reasons two weeks ago, Wynne and Katya impressed the judges on Saturday and made it through to next week. After a testing time in which Wynne admitted he was "heartbroken" after 'handgate', the couple showed what they were made of on the dance floor and waltzed off with 33 points.

Judge Anton Du Beke said “it’s a lovely show, when you dance”, while Motsi Mabuse called the pair's efforts “exquisite”. Another fan agreed with the panel and gushed on X: “WHAT A GREAT QUICKSTEP FROM WYNNE !!!! THIS WAS SUCH A FUN & JOYOUS ROUTINE. I ENJOYED IT.”

Referring to the controversy, another said: “I feel sorry for Wynne, him and Katya have said multiple times it was an inside joke, yes I get it’s a joke, but people are still being mean about him on here!”

However, not everyone was bowled over by the couple as one posted: “A 9?! For Wynne and Katya?!A second wrote: “Not to be hyperbolic, but I genuinely think Wynne’s quickstep was the worst dance I've ever watched on #Strictly…. it was absolutely awful, I can’t believe it.” Meanwhile, a third added: “Not saying I’m dramatic, but I had to leave the room when Wynne received 9s.”
