Airtel has announced two major upgrades to its AI-driven spam detection tool, aiming to strengthen protections against fraudulent calls and messages. The telecom operator has now announced it will now extend SPAM alerts to international calls and SMSes while offering notifications in 10 Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi, and Urdu.

As Airtel intensified its crackdown on domestic spam, fraudsters found ways to exploit foreign networks, leading to a 12% surge in international spam calls over the past six months. With the latest upgrade, Airtel’s AI system will now scan and flag spam calls and messages originating from overseas networks, helping customers identify and avoid potential scams.
