2 held with 3.5kg charas in Nurpur

Shimla: Nurpur police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two persons carrying 3.57 kg charas . As per Ashok Ratan, superintendent of police, Nurpur, a police team, based on a tip-off, intercepted a car near Jota at the 24-mile mark in Nurpur and recovered charas from the vehicle. The arrested accused have been identified as Bhupinder Thakur and Jitendra Thakur, both residents of Kullu district. Nurpur police have registered an FIR under Sections 20 (possessing cannabis), 25 (allowing premises for offence) and 29 (criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the accused, said the police. SP said police were investigating the case to check forward and backward linkages. tnn
